The Healing Power Of The Lord's Prayer

For a more enriching experience, go down on your knees to pray or take it one step further and prostrate yourself (lay face down) on the floor while praying.

IS WISHING THE SAME AS PRAYING?

Even if a patient had carpal tunnel syndrome from repetitive use, I never heard a patient say they loved the job that made them feel bad.

Over and over again we sit in situations that do not make us feel happy or satisfied. Many times we sit around wishing for change, rather than praying with faith that a miracle can and will take place. The wishing continues and the situation remains the same. Why?

IT ALL STARTS WITH ASKING

When I was a kid and wanted to go roller skating, I asked my mom. When I wanted money to get into the roller skating rink, I asked my dad. Either way, I couldn't go or get in if I didn't ask. And the reason why we dare to ask in the first place is that we honestly "believe" that our request will be answered affirmatively.

ASK, SEEK AND KNOCK

In Matthew 7:7-8 - Jesus said, "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you; For every one that asketh, receiveth; and he that seeketh, findeth; and to him that knocketh, it shall be opened.

NEED A MOUNTAIN REMOVED?

In Matthew 21:21-22 - Jesus said, " . . also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done. And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive."

Now, how easy is that? We have to ask. Words like, "I wish and I hope" do not work. Do you want a miracle? Then ask for it!

SANTA CLAUS

I don't know about you, but when I wanted something for Christmas and I told Santa, I woke up Christmas morning believing it was under the tree. Why do we have such faith in Santa Claus to deliver and not in God?

He's saying in your prayers, believe you already have it. Believe it is here. Now, this is Faith in its finest hour.

PRAY IN SECRET -

Matthew 6:6 - Jesus also said, "But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly."

Jesus lays it out simply. Pray in quiet, ask and it will manifest where you can see it.

NO VAIN REPETITIONS -

Matthew 6:7 - Jesus said clearly, "But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking."

In other words, asking over and over and over again is not having much faith in the power of the spoken word to God. You ask once and from there on out you are sitting in gratitude and thanksgiving. After you have asked, believing you have received it, everything else is thanking God that your prayer has been answered.

The rules of prayer are simple and straightforward. Ask in private, believe you have it, and be open to receiving.

AND FINALLY -

Jesus instructs us how to pray. He says after you have prayed quietly and asked, and believe you are receiving then pray this prayer.

Matthew 6:6-13 - He says, "After this manner, therefore, pray ye:

Our Father which art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom comes, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For Thine is the Kingdom, and the Power, and the Glory, forever. Amen."

So again, the rules are simple. After you have prayed quietly, asked, and believe, then you always say the Lord's Prayer at the end of your prayers.

WHAT IS THE LORD'S PRAYER SAYING? -

Our Father which art in Heaven (we are speaking to God in Heaven) . . . Hallowed be thy name (sacred is God's name) . . . Thy kingdom comes (the kingdom of Heaven awaits) . . . Thy will be done in earth, as it is in Heaven (everything will be done in Divine Perfection in Divine Time) . . . Give us this day our daily bread (not tomorrow or sometime in the near future, this day means today) . . . and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors (in other words, we are saying forgive me in the same way I forgive others) . . . and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil (do not bring temptation near me, in fact, keep all evil away from me) . . . For thine is the Kingdom and the Power and the Glory forever (this is how we gain power by knowing our source, God is our source of Power). Amen.

Be sure to follow up all of your prayers with the Lord's Prayer. There is a lot of praise and thanksgiving in this prayer, and so much to be thankful for.
